Daydream #2

It was about 4:15pm. My bus was due any minute, and surrounding me was my multiple bags of shopping. I peered down the road, keeping an eye out for the bus. Nothing. Sighing I sat back against the chair. My silence was broken when a large white van pulled up in front of me. The window rolled down and a man leaned forward from the driver’s seat.
“Hey! What bus you waitin’ for?” I glanced up politely.
“Uh, the 620.” I stated matter-of-factly. He smiled widely.
“Well, I’m actually from the bus company. The bus has broken down so I’ve had to come and do the rounds.” I glanced sceptically at the empty van.
“I’d rather wait for the next one thanks, if you don’t mind.” The man frowned a bit.
“It could be quite a while til the next one arrives. I wouldn’t risk it if I were you.” I smiled and shook my head, there was no way I was hopping in that van.
“It’s cool. I’ll be fine.” The guy’s happy mood suddenly snapped.
“I don’t give a shit. Just get in the goddamn van.” I cocked an eyebrow at that point.
“Eh?” He seemed pretty pissed, and quite frankly I had no idea what to do. Seeming as I wasn’t following his instructions, he jammed the hand-break on and jumped out of the van.
“You little bitch.” He mumbled quietly to me. I stood slowly and carefully watched his movements as he swaggered closer. I stepped backward, somehow I felt I couldn’t run; I had to face him no matter what.
He lunged for my arm, and managed to grasp my wrist tightly. I lunged out with my foot, and hit his crutch as hard as I could. It was enough, and his grip was released. He lunged again, but this time I was ready and dodged. Within milliseconds he had a clenched fist flying toward my face, I dodged the first but the second fist was on its way.  With lightning fast reactions I managed to grab his fist, some hidden strength heightening all of my senses, before slamming my own clenched fist square into his face.
It hurt like hell, but damn it felt good, and it was a perfect hit; his nose was sticking to one side, blood pouring from within, and he was staggering blindly to the ground. I had no idea what to do. Had I just broken the law? Should I call an ambulance? I felt I should do something, but instead, when I looked up I saw the bus approaching, my mind went blank and, grabbing my bags, boarded the bus as fast as I could.

So, sitting at the bus stop this afternoon I had this rather retarded day dream, but it’s pretty normal for me; beating up rapists with my pretend skills of doom and wonder. It’s how I deal with people I don’t like, I just imaginary-punch them in the face: problem solvered. Well, in my imagination anyway, I’ve never been faced with this predicament before, but maybe if something bad does happen, the amount of daydreams I have about fighting people may come in handy, well that’s how I’d like it to be.

Daydream #1

“Please, send an ambulance.” I mumbled into the phone. It was late afternoon, the sun had almost sunk entirely behind the mountains, and, funnily enough, I didn’t even need an ambulance, yet.
“Okay, please remain calm, and tell me what has happened.” The lady on the other end of the phone calmly said. I took a deep shuddering breath, wondering how I could word this properly.
“Uh... well, nothing.” I said regretfully. There was a moment of silence from the other end.
“Excuse me? I didn’t hear that correctly.” I sighed.
“Nothing’s happened yet.” I started, “but I know that something’s going to happen soon.” I knew this was pointless, but I still had to try. I’d had a panicked feeling all day, and somehow, I knew that I was going to be hurt. I didn’t know what, when or how, but I just knew. I could tell the lady was getting annoyed.
“So, you think you’re going to be hurt?” She confirmed.
“Yes.” I answered slowly. “Please, you have to believe me.” I whispered almost frantically; the panic attack was rising again.
“Do you think you’re going to be attacked? If so, you should call the police.” I shook my head, despite that I was on the phone.
“No, well... I don’t know. I can just feel something bad is going to happen.” The lady sighed angrily.
“Look, I don’t have time for prank calls okay? If you’re being serious, please explain the situation.” I clasped the phone hard, I felt I should be fleeing but I didn’t understand what from.  I was confused, scared, and unsure what to do next.
“Just... help me please.” I cried into the phone. Finally, when I felt the fear could rise no further I heard an explosion before a pile of dust flew into the room.
Coughing, I dropped the phone and backed into the corner, the lady on the other end had obviously heard the explosion too, because I could hear her strange muffled voice crying out from my place across the room. The next minute I felt the heat inside the room increase, and the orange glow of flames were visible in the hallway. I huddled into my corner, hugging my legs, pleading for everything to go away.
Soon I could hear footsteps, not human footsteps, more like scratching, clacking footsteps; footsteps that simply didn’t sound normal. I looked up slowly from my corner to see a large, grotesque, insect-like head appear from within the hall. It was making clicking noises with some exo-skeletal mechanism, and strangely enough I could understand the clicking, as if it were speaking.
I cannot sense the one yet. But I know she is near.
It must be talking about me, but why? Another moved in behind it, and now, glancing at their full bodies, I saw they resembled giant praying mantis’, but more, standy-uppy, if you could call it that. I held my breath as they crawled through the doorway, they still hadn’t seen me in the corner; the room was almost completely dark.  The pair split as I strained my brain for an escape plan, but it was too late; the nearest one had seen me.
In that moment I had no thoughts other than to flee... or fight, but I had no chance against them, did I? A shiver fled through my body in the final moments as they insect crawled forward.
Found it.
Staring up, I felt my entire body loosen as a wave of anger crashed through me, and without realising what I was doing, I stood. The last thing I remember was staring into the beast’s multiple eyes, before my vision faded into darkness, and my consciousness with it.

... So, sitting on the bus for my usual commute to university I found myself daydreaming this strange story. I have no idea where it came from,  or why I was even thinking of such things. Maybe it’s because I don’t like bugs, and the supernatural things... well I’m always dreaming about that sort of stuff, as you’ll probably realise if you keep up with my posts.  So regardless, I hope you enjoyed it, and I know you’re wondering where the story ends, but alas, my dream did not go that far, so I cannot legally write it down... or something like that... heh heh (>_>)

An Introduction to Introduce Things

For my first post, I figured I'd start with a bit of an introduction, as the title suggests.

Well, I'm Susan, I'm currently 17, although I feel far from it. I go to university, where I am studying geology, and I like to write, hence why I started this blog. I don't know about others but I do daydream a lot, mainly when I'm in a really dull class, or sitting in the car staring out the window. Most daydreams don't turn into much, just my favourite character-at-the-time running along beside me doing their thing, but there are times -usually when I'm outside doing nothing, or just about to go to bed -when I'm really bored/creative/crazy (whatever you want to call it) that my brain turns the dream into a but of an adventure, and a story develops. Well, that's what this blog is all about.
For my posts I won't just be writing about my daydreams in a 'this happened then this happened' kinda way, I'll turn them into stories. Basically, it's just me expressing myself, the way all teens want to, except instead of writing crappy stories I made up, I'll write crappy daydreams that my mind made up, so I'll have something to blame for the crappy-ness. Well that's the theory... Also, you'll probably find a recurring character - moi - because, frankly, who doesn't daydream about themselves?
So, make sure you survive the ride, and don't get lost along the way. Overall I hope these give you a little insight into my life, and a little happiness to go with it. Enjoy!
